In Poland and the European Union (EU), the sale and use of chemical products are regulated by various laws and regulations to ensure safety for human health and the environment. Key regulations include:
- REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006): This is a major piece of legislation in the EU that stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. It places the responsibility on companies to manage the risks from chemicals and provides necessary safety information.
- CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008): The Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation ensures that the hazards presented by chemicals are clearly communicated by labels and safety data sheets.
- Biocidal Products Regulation (EU 528/2012): This regulation governs the placing on the market and use of biocidal products, which are intended to kill or control harmful organisms.
- Plant Protection Products Regulation (EC 1107/2009): This covers the approval of plant protection products (pesticides) and their active substances, ensuring they do not pose unacceptable risks to human health, animal health, or the environment.
- Polish Legislation: In addition to EU regulations, Poland has its own national laws and regulations that align with EU directives, often implementing stricter measures in alignment with national safety standards.
